Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to AppTout.com and to every application published by AppTout, LLC (“AppTout”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading or using any AppTout app, or by visiting our website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. Please read it carefully before using our apps or services.
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. This notice explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. To keep it easy to find, we link to it from our homepage and from every place where personally identifiable information may be requested.
Information We Collect on Our Website
When you visit AppTout.com, we log the IP address used to access the site along with the date and time of each visit. We use this information solely to analyze trends, administer the site, understand how visitors move through it, and gather broad demographic information for internal use. Logged IP addresses are never linked to personally identifiable information.
Location Data and Advertising Identifiers
If you have enabled background location on your device, our apps may periodically send us your device’s location, even when you are not actively using the app, together with your device’s advertising identifier. This data may be used by us and may be shared with third parties. You can prevent this collection at any time by disabling background location or limiting ad tracking in your device’s settings.
Links to Third-Party Websites
Our website and apps may include links to third-party websites for your convenience and reference. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and their policies may differ from ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Phone Numbers, SMS, and MMS
Some AppTout apps collect your mobile phone number when you choose to verify your account, enable messaging features, or use tools that send text messages. This section describes how we handle phone numbers across our apps, including apps that offer Quick Send and similar in-app messaging features.
What We Collect
When you verify your phone number in an app, we collect the phone number you provide and related verification data, such as one-time passcodes, verification timestamps, and whether verification succeeded. If you use messaging features, we may also collect message delivery status and logs needed to operate the service.
How We Use Phone Numbers
We use phone numbers to:
- Send one-time verification codes to confirm that you own or control the number you entered.
- Store your number on our system so you can use app features that require a verified phone number.
- Enable in-app messaging features you choose to use, such as sending messages through Quick Send or comparable tools.
- Send service-related text messages you request or that are necessary to provide app functionality, such as delivery confirmations or account notices tied to messaging features.
- Send periodic SMS or MMS messages containing, but not limited to, important information, updates, deals, and specials.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use of our messaging services.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
How We Share Phone Numbers
We share phone numbers only with service providers that help us deliver SMS and MMS messages and operate our apps, such as telecommunications carriers and messaging delivery platforms. These providers process phone our behalf and are contractually required to use them only to provide services to AppTout. We may also disclose phone numbers if required by law, court order, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of AppTout, our users, or others.
Retention
We retain phone numbers and related verification records for as long as your account or messaging feature remains active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your phone number as described in the “Your Choices” section below.
Your Choices
You may choose not to provide a phone number, but some app features, including phone verification and messaging tools such as Quick Send, may not be available without it. To stop receiving promotional or periodic SMS and MMS messages from AppTout, reply STOP to any message we send you. For help, reply HELP or contact us at info@apptout.com. To request access to or deletion of phone number data we hold about you, email info@apptout.com.
App-Specific Practices
Quick Send and In-App Messaging
When you submit your phone number in Quick Send or a similar app, you agree that we may store your number on our system. We use your number to deliver verification codes, send messages you initiate through the app, and send periodic SMS or MMS messages containing, but not limited to, important information, updates, deals, and specials. Message content and recipient phone numbers are processed to deliver your messages and maintain service logs. We do not sell message data to third parties.
Cartoon Yourself, Face Detection
Cartoon Yourself does not perform any facial detection on your device. When you select a cartoon effect, your photo is securely sent to Google Gemini, which may use facial detection as part of its AI processing to apply the requested transformation. This detection is handled entirely by Gemini and is used solely to enable the cartoon effect. No facial data is stored, retained, or used beyond that processing step.
Cartoon Yourself, Photo Processing
When you apply a cartoon effect, your selected photo is uploaded securely to our servers and stored temporarily for processing. It is then sent to trusted third-party AI providers, including Google Gemini, to generate the cartoon image. Photos remain on our servers for up to 24 hours and are then automatically deleted by a scheduled cleanup process. Your images are used solely to generate the effect, they are never stored long-term, used for AI training, or shared for any other purpose.
Gist, Audio Recording
Gist stores your audio files securely using encryption. For processing, recordings may be temporarily decrypted and sent to trusted third-party AI providers to generate transcripts and summaries. Once processing is complete, your audio files are re-encrypted and stored securely.
Gist, Transcription and Summaries
When you request a transcript or smart summary in Gist, your audio is temporarily decrypted for processing. The resulting transcripts and summaries are stored in encrypted form so you can access and retrieve them later. This data is used solely to provide the service you requested and is never shared or used for AI training.
Children’s Privacy
This section provides additional information and protections for children under 13 years of age.
Information Collection and Use
Under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), no operator may require a child under 13 to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary as a condition of participating in an activity. AppTout complies with this requirement. We collect only information that is voluntarily provided; we never collect information from children passively. A child under 13 may submit only their email address when contacting us through our “Contact Us” section. We use that email address solely to respond to the child’s one-time request, and we delete it immediately afterward.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share children’s personally identifiable information with anyone, except as described in this section. No information collected from children under 13 is used for marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose children’s personally identifiable information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, to the extent permitted by law. Companies that work on our behalf are not provided with any personally identifiable information that has been voluntarily submitted to us.
Reviewing, Updating, or Deleting a Child’s Information
If AppTout collects and retains any personal information about a child under 13, a parent or guardian may email us at info@apptout.com to review, change, or delete that information, and to refuse any further collection or use of the child’s information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
